The Roads Authorities and Utilities Committee (Scotland) [acronym 'RAUC(S)'] provides, at a national level, co-ordination and an overview of activities carried out on roads under the 'Street Works' element of the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) as amended by the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005.
RAUC(S) comprises representatives of the Roads Authorities including Transport Scotland as RA for Trunk Roads and of the Scottish Joint Utility Group together with representatives of the Scottish Government as legislature. The Scottish Road Works Commissioner (SRWC) has a standing invitation to attend.
The RAUC(S) site exists mainly to allow communication between RAUC(S); its subsidiary Area and Local RAUCs; its Working Groups and individual Roads Authorities and Utility Companies as well as agents and contractors by providing, inter alia, a location where papers for, and minutes of, meetings can be made available to the 'NRSWA community'.
RAUC(S) Advice Notes and formal Guidance Documents may be viewed under the 'Legislation & Guidance' tab of the SRWC's main site. RAUC(S) What's New issues will be found under the 'What's New' tab of the main site.
Documents to be posted on behalf of any group should be emailed to the RAUC(S) Secretary accompanied by a Posting Form.
The Community Diary is provided to allow a view of meeting and event dates and to help prevent duplication of dates. Secretaries of sub-groups and working groups are strongly encouraged to submit dates for posting in the Diary to the RAUC(S) Secretary.
Emergency Contacts for Area RAUC(S) can be found here.
The Terms of Reference and Constitutions of RAUC(S) and its sub-groups together with the relative locations of these bodies within the NRSWA Community Structure may be found under the 'Community' tab.
Details including a minute from the meetings and papers can be found here.
Any enquiry or comment regarding the RAUC(S) website may be made to the RAUC(S) Secretary.
