The Scottish Road Works Commissioner has today issued a penalty of £35,000 to CityFibre Metro Networks Limited (CityFibre) following a number of serious failures to comply with road works legislation in Scotland.

The independent review of the office and functions of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner is now complete.

Derek MacKay, Minister for Transport and the Islands, recently announced an independent review of the Office and functions of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner, with recommendations to be made to the Scottish Ministers by end March 2016.

Angus Carmichael has been appointed as Scottish Road Works Commissioner on an interim basis.
