Award of the contract to provide The Scottish Road Works Register

The new contact will begin on the 1 April 2018 for a period of 4 years with the option to extend the contract for up to 3 years. The new contract aims to deliver a Register which will enable organisations to carry out their statutory duties with ease as well as providing some added enhancements in line with current technological advancements, such as mobile technology to assist those on site.

It is envisaged that existing users will experience little or no disruption over the transition period between contracts.

The contract was signed on 17 August 2017 in Edinburgh by the Commissioner, Angus Carmichael and the Managing Director of Symology, Mike Bartlett.

The Commissioner, Angus Carmichael, said "I am pleased to announce the award of the contract for provision of the Scottish Road Works Register. I am confident that Symology will continue to provide the required service going forward, and that the enhancements provided within the new contract will assist both those working in the road and the travelling public. The register is a national asset and I look forward to working with Symology to enhance this asset."

Mike Bartlett, Managing Director of Symology, said "We are delighted to retain the contract for the provision of the Scottish Road Works Register on behalf of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner. We have already forged an excellent working relationship with the Scottish Road Works Commissioner and his staff in Edinburgh. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the community to retain and strengthen the position of the Scottish Road Works Register as the leading system for managing road works."
