The Commissioner is aware that there was an outage of the Scottish Road Works Register yesterday (16 December 2024). Normal service resumed at around 15:15.
Now normal service has returned we are aware that the outage will lead to some notices being recorded late, which in turn will lead to potential noticing failures. The Commissioner asks the authorities to take this outage into consideration if they are planning to issue any Fixed Penalty Notices to the undertakers.
Due to the relatively short nature of the outage this is not expected to greatly impact the quarterly performance measured by the Commissioner on noticing compliance. If you feel your organisation is being exceptionally affected by this outage, be assured the Commissioner also plans to take the outage into consideration, but please be prepared to provide evidence of the exceptional impact.
